The Red Ledger

The Red Ledger (Part 1)  by Meredith Wild Title: The Red Ledger (Part 1) Author: Meredith Wild Genre: Suspense Published in: 2018 Age suggestion: 18+ Spice-o-meter: 2 out of 5 My rating: 4 out of 5 My thoughts: This book was a short, easy read. I actually chose to read this one simply because it was a short one and I’m trying to finish all the books I currently have on my Kindle before buying a bunch more. I finished it while on a 24 hour shift for work. The book itself was good and held my interest. It had some romance, suspense, and was about hit men and had other tropes in it like amnesia and high school sweethearts. This book is split perspective between Isabel and Tristian. Isabel is a young woman who moved to Rio after her heart was broken by a letter ending her relationship from Tristian, who had joined the U.S. Army. Then he went off the grid for six years and she didn’t hear from or of him until seeing him randomly in Rio. He didn’t know why she knew him and he didn’t know o

Time Spent With You

This post will include spoilers. Time Spent With You by Haley Zaragoza Title: Time Spent With You Author: Haley Zaragoza Genre: Romance Published in: 2023 Age suggestion: Young adult and up Spice-o-meter: No spice My rating: 5 out of 5 My thoughts: I absolutely loved this book! It reminded me of Pride & Prejudice , which I think was kind of the point, but it included a few other elements to it. It was a sweet, clean romance with no spice. I loved the characters, the story, and I really enjoyed the plot. It was unique compared to most romances I've read more recently. This book felt like a breath of fresh air for me. It was, of course, somewhat predictable, but all romances are. I was just really happy with this book overall. I have no complaints about it. I read it on my Kindle, but I may end up buying a physical copy because I loved it so much. It was a short, easy read. This book is split perspective between James and Diana. James is a man living in the modern day. He live

The Debate of eBooks vs. Printed Books

I still remember when I was about twelve years old and I asked my dad for a Kindle for my birthday. I was always an avid reader. There were times where my parents had a hard time getting me to put down my book to eat dinner or go to sleep. I asked for a Kindle because I wanted to have the opportunity to read wherever I was and have something that didn't take up space. I wanted to have access to an unlimited number of books at any time. I found out later that my parents had already been told by my grandparents that they had bought me a Kindle as my birthday gift! My birthday came and I was so excited to open that package! I immediately went to the Kindle store and started downloading all the free books I could on my brand new 4th generation Kindle. To this day, I love my Kindle! I still have the exact same one. Its a bit beat up around the edges, but it's still a necessity for me. Now that I'm grown up, I don't have to ask my parents every time I want to download a boo

(Yet Another) Recent Book Haul

Hello everyone! I wanted to hop on here to post about my recent book haul. It was another small one but I'm still super excited about everything I've bought recently. Today, I made another trip to Barnes & Noble (which is always a dangerous adventure for the wallet, even if it's good for the soul). I was able to pick up some books I've been eyeing for a while and I can't wait to read them! Currently, I'm reading Neon Gods by Katee Robert on my Kindle, so I have to finish that before I move on to any of these, but I still wanted to post about them. At Barnes & Noble, I was able to pick up the last copy they had of A Court of Thorns and Roses , which I've been wanting to read for a while now. I think I may have said this before on my blog, but I am not usually drawn to fantasy books and I'm trying to get into reading them more. This one just interested me due to the number of people who are obsessed with this series. I want to try reading it. I
